Hi All,
As anybody try to upgrade a shopsmith with a quill style tailstock, like from an old sears wood lathe?

Thanks for both the question and the answer. It is timely. I'm about done with the first stage of a 10ER restoration that I want to use as a dedicated lathe. It looked to me like there was a lot that could be done on both ends to improve the versatility of the SS. And isn't that really why we have a multipurpose tool, to have versatility?

I simply had not thought the tailstock end through as thoroughly as others and now I can build on knowledge of others. Thanks!!
