Woodcraft Magazine

Post by backhertz »

I've been sent a 'special' offer for a 2 year subscription to Woodcraft magazine for $19.97 for two years. It's usually $19.97 for one year. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Geez! been taking Woodcraft for a few years Never fell into an offer like that :( . (corrected the time frame)

EDIT - Whoops - too sleepy last night - thought I was talking about "Woodsmith":o .

Woodcraft has only been out for a few years - I think!

Anyway it is a good mag. Have found some good ideas! Not every issue, but more than some other popular mags.

Inexpensive, but good.

I read it at the Woodcraft Store for free, along with free coffee (and sometimes cookies). Don't go on Saturday looking for freebies unless you get up early.

I wish there was a bookstore nearby who offered it. Years ago I would go to one of major bookstores, get a stack of magazines and read them while enjoying a good cup of coffee. The store encouraged it and I saved a small fortune on magazine subscriptions. But alas…I did something which resulted in the forum handle I have which prevents me for sitting for any extended time, but I have no problem in standing. Thank goodness, I didn't hurt another part of my body…

Now we know the whole story. I thought you might have had something to do with radios back in the old days. :D Now if we could just find out the history behind other handles here, like reible, dusty, JPG, Fjimp, Heathicus, Pennview, etc.

How is the woodcraft magazine. When it first came out I was looking at it in the Woodcraft store and the salesman told me not to waste my money.

I guess that sort of set my opinion as I looked through the mag and decided he was right there wasn't much in it worth paying for.

I never got it and I don't bother reading it when I'm in the store so I don't know a thing about it.

How is the mag? Is it worth the price?
