Made this Cherry shaker table mostly with the Mk V. I should have shot some pics while I was working but got so caught up in figuring out the machine I forgot.

I started with rough stock and used my lunchbox planer, and a hand plane to joint the edges, (I need to find a good SS Jointer) finish sanding was done with a random orbit sander and by hand. Other than a little other hand tool work the rest was done on the SS. I still need to put a coat of wax on it but want to give the Danish oil a chance to dry completely before I do.

Over all and considering that the machine is new to me I was really pleased with how well it worked. Having the variable speed while tapering the legs was nice to keep the cherry from burning. I used the horizontal boring set up to make the mortises in the legs for the aprons and cleaned them up with a chisel. Much easier than doing it in a traditional drill press and it was easy to keep that critical front reveal identical on all the apron to leg joints. Overall I'm real happy with the way my SS worked on this project, and I'm pretty happy with the table too

Great job. What shall the next project be. Coffee table? End table?

I'm actually thinking one for the house means I get to do one for the shop next. We'll see what the Boss says about that... I need to get my Drill bits and accessories organized, so I'd like to do a bit cabinet of some kind. I think the Boss would like a small blanket chest type of box for the dog toys.

very pretty shaker table, reddog! It takes a lot of craftsmanship to make one of these look simple. The details like tapered legs and leg reveal show that work.

Your table will look even prettier as the cherry darkens.

Very nice. Did you use a taper jig for the legs or?

Yeah, I made a taper jig from some scrap, and then ran the legs on the saw.

Thanks for the compliments. It's a very simple table but I was pleased with how it turned out.
