My first attempt at turning.

My mom is a pretty big turning personality and has made some serious pieces out of ply. Thought I would give it a try. Interesting...

Very interesting bowl, wolf..:) . I am wondering what species and type of plywood you used. I guess the glue in the plywood wasn't an issue to the sharpness of your tools:confused: .

I bet it was;) I've turned ply and laminated materials before. The glue wreaks havoc on an edged tool.

The glue performed as an accelerated deedging abrasive quite well. First time turning learning also turned out to be a first time learning-to-sharpen-lathe-tools exercise.

Edit: 3/4" cabinet ply from one of the big box stores.
