A pen in the hand of this president is far more dangerous than a gun in the hands of 200 million law-abiding citizens. This was in the Opinion Line of our news paper this morning. Just about says it all.

And there is nothing you can do about that! You can't un-invent the gun. Criminals that want to carry will carry regardless of what a piece of paper says.

The odds you will ever be shot by a gun has got to be lower than being hit by a lightning bolt so I don't understand all the noise about guns. Unless it's to the advantage of certain groups of folks to keep this pot stirred up. Now who would that be:rolleyes: Get on with your life and worry about those things that really affect you. I'm going to go out and turn another bowl in case I need to sell it to feed my family.

Did more than a couple of years in the NYPD and the teams that I worked with took more than 100 guns off the streets. Never, not once, nada, zero,zilch, did we ever take a gun from someone who possessed it LEGALLY. Bad guys don't get permits.
I propose severe civil penalties for people who do not properly safeguard thair firearms.
The chances of getting shot are minimal but I can tell you one thing that the major city near me (Orlando) is like a shooting gallery. Same for Jacksonville and also the home of gun violence Chicago.
Seems like the cities with the most gun violence are the ones with the most restrictive gun rules and the most unarmed civilians.

Could not have said it better myself.

I went into city hall today and there was a sign that said "It is against the call to carry an illegal firearm into a public building". The sign confused me since I have a CHL so I asked my friend the Chief of Police what it means and was it OK to carry an illegal weapon while reading the sign outside the building?

His answer NO it was not OK to carry an illegal weapon anywhere, inside or outside the building so he had no idea what the sign was for or what it means but he was going to fine out. I asked the same question to one of the sergeants and he gave me a similar answer but added something about open carry not being allowed in the building (which is legal outside) but then said the sign was not talking about that. Again he will be getting back to me.

My next call is to the mayor and I expect the same response, my tax dollars paid for this sign:mad:
