width of spacer?

I am restoring a MarkV Model 500, and I need to know the width of the rubber spacer that is on the rear way tube, between the carriage and headstock. It allows you to keep the distance between headstock and carriage consistent in table saw mode. Shopsmith does not even show the spacer in the machine drawings or parts lists on their site. If I had the measurement, I could make one out of PVC pipe. Thanks for any help anyone can offer

I made one recently. I'm not sure the exact width is critical as long as it's consistent on your machine. About 1-5/8" allows the blade to center in the slot of the factory insert on my machine. I cut mine a little thick and then sanded it down until it caused the blade to center up.

The stop rings are in the carriage assembly service parts menu.
The 500 is very thin, maybe 1/2" at most.

I think they are less than $3 for either version.

Thank you Mike907 and joshh! I would never have found that! Thank you too, reddog. I'll try making one first, if that don't work, I have an excuse to buy more stuff from Shopsmith !

Mine is 3/8's of a inch in width. This is for the 500 tables.

By the way, how do you fit all that stuff in a 100 square foot space? I'm impressed!

I recently ordered two of the spacers from Shopsmith. They are exactly 11/32 inch. However, I am going to have to sand them a little narrower because my saw blade is still not exactly centered in the middle of the saw insert. It also makes a difference which way tube you put it on, the front or the back one. The castings are not exact and there are differences from one machine to another so you will have to experiment for your particular machine.
