Birthday gifts

At Christmas among the many gifts I made for friends and family was this little Jelly Bean Machine.

We had a "Dirty Santa" gift exchange, allowing people to steal a gift up to three times rather than draw one from the pile. One of my daughters happened to get the candy machine. It was quite a hit with the group. Her mother promptly "stole" it from her, only to have my daughter's best friend steal it from her mom. All I heard was "I want one too!"
So, I counted up heads, realized birthdays were coming soon for most of them and started planning. Tonight they are basically done, which is good since several of the ladies will be here tomorrow for an Easter celebration and my goal was to have their birthday gifts ready (albeit, a little bit late for most).
There is some economy in doing things in batches, but they still took longer to make than I thought. I am promising myself to not tell anyone all the mistakes I made and can see when I look at them.

The fun part was coming up with different handles for each one to make them more individualized.
Two of them go to my two oldest daughters, two go to a couple of ex-wives who are still part of the family (after all, we have children), one for my sister-in-law, and the last one is being donated to a charity raffle for the Arkansas Council of the Blind fundraiser at their state convention next month.
I drew up plans, made notes and plan to finalize the plans/notes with things I discovered, jigs I made and changes that evolved. Who knows when I might need to make another batch?
