if there was a fee (or prerequisite) to log on?

Producing these videos is an expensive and time consuming process. It has been said here, on a number of occasions, that we miss Nick and the Sawdust Sessions but do we miss them enough to accept some sort of charge for having them available?

I have viewed all the archived videos that are available. I did not know about Shopsmith, nor was I woodworking when the live sessions were being produced. As someone who is still very new to Shopsmith and doing things on a Shopsmith, I would be willing to pay a small fee or having to buy something or anything from Shopsmith as an access fee in order to have some kind of live session and video like "the old days".

I voted yes as I use them from time to time. After I was given my first SS about 4 or 5 years ago, the provider suggested this site. From the good folks on this site, I found my way to the shows and use them when I have questions. Good information.

Yep. I never knew they were different. A youtube search for Sawdust Sessions takes me to Handsonline.

Okay I voted that I would watch them. Which I did, many times while they were being made by Nick when we could go online with the Saw Dust session.

Would I pay to watch the ones that were made? Probably not. If I remember correctly Nick did a lot of ad-living and didn't seem to have a script. Also some of the camera work left a little to be desired.

I would even consider paying some fee to have Nick back making saw dust sessions that we could watch live and ask questions and get answers as the session progressed.

I would probably even agree to purchase or at least serious consider the hightlighted tool of the session provided I didn't already own it or it wasn't the over priced Power Pro or Pro Planner.

Frankly I think Nick was on the verge of taking Shopsmith into the digital age in ways they haven't considered before. The days of Mall demo's and traveling academies are over but I do believe that there is still a way for Shopsmith to do demo's and academies but it will be online.

Somebody like Nick will be in the shop demo'ing a techniques and the student can be in his recliner just watching or by his own shopsmith following along and asking questions. Imagine hands on Shopsmith training in your own home taught by an instructor that will take the time to personally answer your questions and perhaps with the aid of technology watch what you are doing and tell you where you are going wrong. I would bet a lot of guys would pay for that.

I voted yes with a fee, but the quality would have to be a lot better and be able to watch it in full screen without distorting it.

Maybe the company could offer them in series, in DVD, with printable PDF files? I have subscribed to a similar series for model railroading and find them invaluable. That way you could view them either on your T.V. or computer. Just a suggestion. Hopefully, Admin is viewing this.
