I am a bit disabled. In addition, I am not all that mechanically minded. The Shopsmith I have was stored for some time and needs to be torn down and and a complete servicing.

It seems crazy that there seems to be no one here in Denver that can sevice my Shopsmith.

Not so crazy as one might think at first. Although there are a bunch of these beasts out in the world, they do not need 'rebuilding' when properly maintained. Idle storage does not make them less functional as long as rust is not occurring. Most of us old geezers that bought these things new are prone to fixing them ourselves.

All that leads to a not frequent need for a local service/repair facility.

Hopefully a nearby forum member can help you.

Be patient. There are a couple close by I think!:)

As JPG says there may be someone near you that can help. There are the options of sending back to Shopsmith HQ or one of the few known for repair. Do you need more repair than the headstock (the motor) repaired?

I thought somewhere there was a list of Shopsmith authorized repair locations, but I can't find it. The non authorized, but well-thought of repair services I know of are Bill in FL, Jacob in Texas I think.

Found it, but it isn't a big list. Closest location is outside of Salt Lake City.
