Hello to all.
After being separated from a Shopsmith for 35 years, I've just received my order number from Shopsmith for a Mark VII, casters, bandsaw and belt sander. Looks like the Mark VII's are 4 to 6 weeks out for delivery, so I've got some time to ready my walk-out basement; 23' x 25' x 7'9".
We have 4 concrete block walls, (brick veneer) two of which are interior and the other two are at/above grade (we live on a slope). Nonetheless, we're thinking of double-coating the walls with bright white Drylock to prevent driving rain from creating wet spots, keep out any moisture that could creep in and brighten the room. We do have a bit of musty odor down there but I think its from the adjoining crawl space under the rest of the house. So, we're also thinking of a de-humidifier.
We've got plenty of electrical available on the main panel and will probably run a 100a sub panel to the basement with 3 20a outlets for the SS, Dust Control and additional hand tools and additional lighting on a 15a dedicated circuit. I'll be installing my drafting table next to my computer station and will have a 20a circuit located there.
We have an 11' x 25' room directly behind the main room with a 3'4" opening that will use for lumber storage. About 1/2 of the height of 2 of those walls are below grade, so we'll definitely waterproof them as well.
In reading about wall tool storage on this forum, it seems like pegboard is commonly used.
I'd appreciate any comments from other users with a similar situation to mine and thanks a lot!
