Having not used my Mark V for much of anything yet, much less the lathe, I thought this looked interesting! I was just thinking several weeks ago......I wonder if they make a chuck adaptor for the tail stock?

Then this showed up in my email from Amazon (OK...I buy a lot of stuff from them, even some Nova items).

2 Nova chucks holding something or other on a lathe.

Hey, I just happen to own 2 Nova chucks!

Any ideas on the usefulness of this item?

Like holding something to drill a hole in the center.

Or if they made that adapter on a live center?

Shopsmith has a tailstock chuck arbor, item # 505603, for $20.78. It has a 5/8" shaft with a flat, so anything you can attach to the spindle, you can also attach to the tailstock chuck arbor. Very useful for drilling holes in stuff held in a chuck.

Now that you mention it, you could also hold a segmented bowl in a chuck attached to the tailstock, attach a sanding disc to the spindle, and flatten your segmented bowl rings sequentially with this setup. Hmm....

Thanks for asking the question!
