Most everyone knows of the first three. What about the BAMs? They came much later. Who were they and what service were the integrated into?

I've got a customer that used to serve as a Marine.

There is NO WAY IN HE**, that I'd call her a "BAM."

Broad @$$ Marine.

Broad and ugly; looks like a whale. Not like any of the BAMs I remember.

The first three are offical names or titles the last BAM is a made up name that was meant to degrades and insult every woman that served in the Marines.

In today's world of sexual harassment cases in the service it is quick to be obsolete and no wise soldier would ever openly use the term.

Of course you know that the Marine Corps is, and always has been, a department of the Navy.

It's the men's department.

Go to the gravesite of Megan McClung, in Arlington National Cemetery, the first woman marine killed in the middle east and see if the designation BAM is anywhere on her tomb stone.

I think in honor of her and the other Female Marines that lost their lives in defense of this nation, this derogatory and antiquated acronym should be shelved.

Enough said?
