I like redoing my SS and accessories.
Does shop smith make spray paint that is good for this and do they have the labels to replace? I heard they have the paint but how many cans does it take to repaint a machine on the average? Any input would be appreciated.

I think that SS has two colors for the gray paint. The old and the new colors. It may be a bit pricy but I have found that it is of very good quality.
Call customer service for the labels. I think that the parts list in the manual has the numbers but they might have changed if SS changed vendors. When I recently bought belts the numbers did change due to a vendor change.
You can keep the paint costs down by using generic gray paint for things like the inside of the legs and the motor pan unless you are a purist for color. Two to three cans should do you OK if I recall from my last restore.

It's more expensive than typical spray paint but in my experience it's good quality, the color matched perfectly (at least for my '79 MV), and each can seemed to cover more then I usually expect form a can of spray paint. Assuming you plan to paint all parts that were originally painted and will prep and prime as needed, I would say you should be able to get by with 3 cans but I would buy four - you may only need some or none of that fourth can but then you'll have some extra for any touch up you need.

As for the stickers, I'd call SS as recommended - I previously bought a set from an E-Bay vendor who was selling them for a while about 6 months ago but I'm not sure if they still are selling them and if so, how often they post them.

I have taken a sample of the SS grey into Lowe's where they can scan the color and duplicate it. I have then rolled it on my Mark 500's as needed with 3 inch foam rollers. I have found that this good paint, much cheaper in price than SS spray cans. It is also easy clean up and does not foul the air. A quart goes a long way.
