I recently happened onto this web site and thought I would share it...
The mini-type lights look real appealing for work in tight places. I'm thinking of setting some up in my workshop to "test-drive"....

My wife plays keyboard and often times the lighting is terrible. While we were at Highland Hardware last summer she picked up a light similar to this only hers runs on batteries. It has a clip and magnetic base and she can clip it on the music stand and see her music easily.
Battery has last a full year and seems to be going strong.
On hers if she gets bored she can flick the switch and it flashes a red light.
