1 1/8 hp motor tripping breaker...???

I recently bought a used Mark V SS and I have to say I love it! I should have picked one up years ago, but better late than never, huh?
The old motor, a 1 1/8 hp w/ what looks like a capacitor start, would trip the 15 amp breaker in my 60 amp service. Nothing else is in operation at the time, so I replaced the motor with a brand new 1 1/8 hp, a new power cord, and new start switch. Unfortunately it still trips...
I have also noticed that the saw blade "bogs down" when cutting. Is this standard operation? I'm a real newbee, so any help would be great!!

Tripping the beaker and bogging down are definitely not standard operating procedures!
If you have already replaced the motor and power cord and it is still tripping the breaker, I'd wonder if the breaker itself has gone bad. Have you tried the Shopsmith on other circuits? How about trying other equipment with a similar draw on the breaker that is tripping (what happens if you plug in the old motor with no load on it into the circuit or other circuits)?
As for bogging down when sawing, that can be the result of one or more of the following external things: dull or bent blades, badly aligned main table, badly aligned aux table, and/or badly aligned rip fence. Also can be caused by the following interior issues: failure to oil sheaves, excessive belt wear, inadequate belt tension and/or improper high speed adjustment.
Need to check them all out....

If you are tripping the breaker on start up it is because the SS motor draws more than 20 amps or so on start up. Sluggish start can be a function of inadequate voltage supply. When the motor starts the current draw is high and this pulls the voltage down which causes the motor to draw more current. Any sluggish start will trip a breaker. SS has long recommended that a dedicated 20 amp circuit only be used. The bogging down can also be a result of the same condition. You put a load on the motor which causes it to draw more current which drops the voltage and causes the motor to draw still more current. It is kind of a vicious circle. Try to contact your power company and have them evaluate your breaker/fuse panel first as a first step.
DO NOT try to replace the 15 amp breaker with a 20 amp because the wiring will probably not be adequate.
