Chrome/Firefox differences

Since updating Google yesterday called my attention to Chrome. I have been using it today.

Noticed a couple of differences from firefox.

Copying and pasting a 'smilie' from 'elsewhere' does not work on chrome.

Surprisingly there is no google search box.

SS smilies do not display as graphics when in edit mode.

Any 'secret' option settings that could enable those things? Chrome seems to be faster and if those things would work I might become 'converted'.

Surprisingly there is no google search box. The address bar is the google search box, just type your desired search in the address bar.

SS smilies do not display as graphics when in edit mode. Again, I'm an early adopter of Chrome, so I never noticed.and that really does not bother me anyways.

Maybe someone else has the answers you're looking for regarding copy/paste and smilies showing in the editor.

The command line or address line is the google search box. Just type search argument in and you will see a drop down that says Google search click it and it does a google search. It also suggests spelling and predictive search arguments.

As far as smilies :) the work fine for me

I'm posting using Chrome now.

I tried foxfire and could find no way to see my bookmarks and it seemed cumbersome to me. I'm a IE user and debating switching to chrome or safari. So far I like chrome.

Ah I see I can't use a smilie from a different site

Any thing that involves the scroll down menus(colors,smilies,bold...) do not display on the EDIT screen except with the 'control' characters. Thus ;) displays as ';')' without the ' when 'editing' aka reply to thread.

Bookmarks are on the top menu bar with file view history etc.

So I am in Firefox, as is normal, and when I select a :) form the framed box of selections, it displays a colon and a right parenthesis in the text. I did not know that it would let you display it. What do I need to set in my settings to see them with out doing a preview?
