I just received two of these. They look as though they might be suitable substitutes.

Look good to me!

On my old Shopsmiths, I'd have to cut the rectangular holes in the casting to mount the switch. But otherwise looks good.

Tis far easier to find a switch for that round hole.

There have been threads in the past trying to 'discover' a replacement for the 'rectangular hole' mounted safety switch. At that time SS appeared to not have a source either!

I commend Dusty for his diligence in continuing that search all this time!!!

This switch is functional but does not appear to be of equal quality.

I got mine from ace and has been working fine.

I don't know!! These parts just do not "feel" to be top quality. The switch from Shopsmith feels sturdy, sounds solid. These feel and look cheap.

As a switch, they work. At least now.

Remember, you get no more than what you pay for!

I don't know!! It's just one of those things. You know quality when you see it and feel it.

The original switch in my Mark V lasted nearly twenty years; I don't think this one will do that.
