CD Changer

I own a 2008 Ford car, that I got second hand in 2010, with a 6 cd changer. A few weeks ago I unloaded a couple of disks to enter new cds. After the last one ejected it wouldn't load again. I kept getting an error message saying LOAD ERROR. It wouldn't do anything. I tried disconnecting the battery to no avail. I found a couple YouTube videos discribing removal and repari of the unit, that didn't look like fun.

I found a item on a website about cars that suggested a 'hillbilly' fix - slap the dash board near the unit hard. Worked like a charm. It immediately started sequencing through the slots to the normal rest postion. It loads, plays and ejects fine now.

It is all in knowing where to hit and how hard. I still use my 4 pd hammer with wooden handle (small sledge) often. I got paid good money for many years for having this knowledge.
