Jigsaw Alignment

I recently bought a SS Jigsaw and the top seams to be at an angle to the table.
My question is, is there a specific angle that the top should be at in relation to the table when the table is in the horizontal zero degree position?

Sorry, Jack! Don't know what you mean by "the top". But yes, the blade should be perpendicular to the table when the table is set a zero degrees.

The 'tube' needs to be square to the table at the bottom end and the upper assembly square to the table at the upper end. The tube can get cocked at either end, but IIRC(I do not have access to mine at present) the tube is notched/pinned at least on one end. The table(stop) is adjustable to square to the lower assembly.

Indeed! Square in what plane? I have been assuming the arm is skewed to either the table or the upper assembly.

It is only off by 1.5 degrees, so I am not sure if that matters. I have not tried to use the saw because I was not sure if it needed adjusting. I have the top in the notch as instructed in the manual.

The bottom of the arm is secured by a pair of wedges similar to the headstock and carriage lock. The wedges are loosened/tightened by an allen head screw near the lower end of the arm on the lower assembly.
Loosen the wedges and the arm should be 'rotatable' to square.

If the arm's pins are in the corresponding notches in the base as they should be, you might want to make the adjustment up at the head. Under the cap held in place by 4 screws, you will find a bolt that attaches the head to the arm. You can loosen this bolt and rotate the head. You should then check to make sure that the upper blade chuck is aligned with the lower blade chuck. There is some front to back (or side to side depending on your point of view) adjustment. This is accomplished by rotating the eccentric wedge (ref. 3 in the parts listing) at the upper end of the arm. You will need to squeeze the wedge before you can rotate it.
