Shopsmith Forums

I know there has been a thread about the Shopsmith Journals/Rick Davis in the distant past, but as I have the one that was made and was perusing it today, I was reminded of how very good it is. Does anyone know what has happened with Rick? Wish he had the opportunity to continue the "Journals" as he is an excellent presenter and the DVD quality was really very professional.

thanks for the kind words. Had things worked out a little I had planed on doing 9-10 more DVDs and would still consider doing them if the company approached me about them,Things have been going great in Ricks world. My Son Aaron and his wife Jen had our first grandchild this last May. Alana a beautiful baby girl. Also, my daughter Savannah got married in Sept to a great guy. I've pretty much been doing exactly whatever I choose, hehe. Lots of turning and was involved in getting a local chapter of AAW here in Chico. I think of all of my past students frequently and hope in some small way I inspired them to be more than they thought possible as a woodworker. Thank you all for making me feel so much at home wherever my van landed.

I still envy you living in Chico being from Sonoma. Had to move here to Oklahoma about 17 years ago due to my career job. Now that I'm retired I can't afford to move back. So happy to hear from you again. Yes it would have been nice to see your cabinet making dvd. I understand missing the sponsership makes it hard to do. Since your class I did get involved more and have grown to really love woodworking. Just finding the time is harder now that I'm retired. I took anothr small job that turned into a full time job to try to keep my marriage going the being home all day just didn't work.
