I would say that the price is very reasonable and especially if the equipment is in as good a shape as it appears.

I agree! I am surprised a reseller has not latched on to it!

Here's my guestimate on what this stuff would likely sell for on the resell market:

510: $1000-$1200
Planer: $500-$600
Bandsaw: $200
Jointer: $150
Scroll Saw: $300
Strip Sander: $200
Power Station: $150
DC3300: $250
Support Table: ?? ($50-$100?)

Not sure I see enough meat on the bone to make it worth buying this package for $2500 and then having to take the time to part it out. If it was on CraigsList and there was some room for haggling, it might be worth it, but I think $2500 is a bit rich to worth the risk if resale profit was one's goal. Now, if someone was looking for a good starter package, I do think it's worth it, especially since much/all of it appears in like new condition, assuming you lived within reasonable proximity to pick the stuff up - he says he'll ship but that would be an expensive freight bill.

I think that your estimates are a tad bit high unless the equipment is in excellent condition. If I was going there to barter, I would start at $1500 (after a good inspection) and maybe allow myself to be worked up a bit.

Your logic escapes me. If the package is worth $2500 as a starter package, surely the bits and pieces are worth at least that much.

When you say part it out, I do hope you are speaking at the top assembly level. Those are nice looking machines. I would not think of "parting them out".

That package would make one swell Christmas gift for anyone thinking about woodworking.

Condition wise it appears all brand new essentially.

I think it could fetch the higher estimates and with 'handling' charges added to 'shipping' a reasonable profit could be made.

I was simply responding to jpg's pondering on why a reseller hadn't jumped on it already - I personally don't have enough time in my life for such endeavors, regardless of how good a deal it is. I guess my logic was that if someone was in it for the $$, I'm not sure the likely profit margin is there to be worth the time, as well as the risk that my guestimates are too high and there are no takers. At the same time, I do think if some wanted to start from scratch and have a really solid and reasonably complete SS-centric woodworking shop, I don't think $2500 is a bad deal considering much of the stuff is still in a box and allegedly the remainder is minimally used out of the box. Being an E-Bay auction, the option of starting low at $1500 isn't really there, as $2500 is the starting bid price. If this was a CraigsList posting or if the person had the "Make an Offer" option on E-Bay then I totally agree that this is where I would start. As for my prices, I think the price I listed for the 510 is optimistic, although if it truly is new or close to it then $1000 is reasonable, but depending on the geographic area, I think it could take some time to get this price. The SPTs I would think would all go for the ballpark of what I listed, again assuming they are sold in an area with some demand...seems like planers go routinely for ~$400 on E-Bay, so a new out of the box I would think would be worth the extra $100. Strip sanders seem to routinely sell for $200+ on E-Bay etc. Again, point being I think the person priced the package out the realistic realm for a reseller person and their best hope is someone looking to start up a shop...
