Just getting aquatinted to my new to me SS. So I decided to try the tools I wanted to test. Table saw works fantastic, jointer works perfectly, and then the band saw incident. I forgot to adjust the speed before I turned it on. Lets just say I blew a tire.

Easy mistake to make...lots of folks recommend getting in the habit of turning the speed control all the way down anytime you are shutting your SS off for any period of time...this way it's always at the slow end of the range and you can always speed it up as needed but you avoid just the problem you discovered.

Fortunately you'll discover that not only can you buy new tires from SS, virtually every part on your bandsaw and most of the other SPTs are still available from SS. If you haven't discovered it already, you can find links to parts diagrams and price lists for each machine and SPT here:

Don't tempt me Actually I want to see how far I can take this machine with the things I do. As it is I want the table upgrade, but dang it's not cheap.
