Hi,
So far as I know only two people here have come out as owning one. I'm also guessing that you know you have to get the shopsmith one off ebay or other places as shopsmith stopped making and sell these some years ago.
The
http://www.ssug.org site has an area dedicated to them and a couple more owners/users.
So now to answer a couple of your questions. There are a couple of versions of these. I own a more modern one and will confind my answers to what I know. The manual states it will work with 6" base routers from Porter Cable, Bosch, Black & Decker, Stanley, Rockwill and Milwaukee. It also has instructions for adapting to other routers. I have a Hitachi that I have used and now keep a PC 690 base attached.
The unit was sold with several add ons you could buy, one of which was a larger table. A second was a bevel miter gauge. These are hard to find items... More commonly found are the stop rod kit, and feather board kit. The slot works with the shopsmith miter gauge that you already have or can purchase.
I have a series of photo's at:

that show the general look and function of the machine. Since I was unable to purchase a bevel miter gauge for a reasonable price I had to resort to makeing one. You can see that at:

Keep in mind this was a prototype but it is working well enough that I haven't taken the time for a more refind one.
Now I have seen plans for a larger table based one the one that shopsmith use to sell but I think I have a better solutions with a lot more flexablity. I mount it on my shopsmith and that can be seen at:

That should keep you busy for a while but if you want to see what else I have out there go to:

More to come in the spring after my shop thaws out.
