Is this normal?

Hi All,

I also found this (see attached)
It looks like some kind of repair was done, unless this is normal. Any ideas?

That is a pretty good looking repair effort. It is the first one I have seen pictured here. :) I would have left a bigger gap at the bolt, but not bad at all!
Here is a side by side comparison:

BTW, it looks like possibly both tabs are broken?

Add a 3/4" washer and screw in the existing hole above the eccentric bushing and you should be OK. Not pretty but looks functional. First time I have seen this type of repair. I was unsuccessful brazing or welding the ear back on the headstock casing so I have been scraping any headstock casing with a broken ear. My first thought would be to extend the bolt through the other web to provide more force on the eccentric bushing with the added bracket. Another idea to add to my collection. Contact me if you wish to replace the headstock casing. Thanks.
