Looking for a new book (novel)

Trustee from the Toolroom was an excellent book and the only one I can find so far that gets close to our hobby (the main character has a basement machine shop and he meets a woodworker later on)
Does anyone have any suggestions? SWMBO is asking me for Xmas ideas.
