corner clamps

So I cut a board at an angle and wanted to glue in a piece of thin wood that was cut off from another piece of wood, using my friend Jerry's new carbide tip band saw blade (shout out). Nice cutting blade.

Any way, so I wanted to clamp the strip in the board, but I didn't want to use the strap clamp, I wanted to use my bar clamp. I thought it would be nice if the bar clamps came with little vee end. Of course mine didn't, so I quickly cut out some wooden vee block and it worked fine.

This was hastily done, which is why the odd shape and fit, but now that I know it works, I'll remake better.

That method does work good and I have done this sort of jaws for many hard to hold items. One thing I find helps is to add a hole where the corners meet so you do not damage the work piece corners. In your case you don't need it but for some other situations it helps.

I do have one commercial bar clamp which has the 90 degree ends. Don't recall who makes it or if it is even around anymore. If I remember I'll see if I can find it one day soon and get a picture.

I think that this is a good share and will be helpful to a lot of people. Thank you!
