Well my 520 table upgrade made it. I have it put together and tomorrow I'll get everything calibrated and ready to go. So far all looks really good. Now just what to do with all of the old parts

Chris, I've been making the debate on whether to upgrade from a 510 to a 520 for ages. if thats what you've done, I'd love to hear your impressions of the one vs the other. Especially after you've used it for a bit.

If I am not mistaken, you had a Mark V Model 510. You then have a 510 rip fence that you need to either find a use for or send to me. I would suggest that you keep it with the idea of creating a rip fence extension.
Shopsmith is now offering a kit to do just that or you can make one of your own.

Don't be too hasty in shedding any of those salvage parts. You also have some table rails. Save them til you find a use for them.

If I'm not mistaken, Chris is upgrading a 500>520 (and not 510>520) ? Even still, I'd hesitate to ditch the 500 parts - you'l find out soon enough that you'll want another 500 as a second machine, possibly to make into a dedicated drill press or a shorty as a dedicated SPT or sanding station etc. and you may want to have those spare parts to aid in rehab of the other 500. Of course this is coming from a pack rat who has a hard time parting with much...

Yes you are correct.

I didn't know about that

First thing I did with my 500 rail and fence when I upgraded to a 520 was to install it on the front of my bandsaw table like Rob did, I then used the table on a shorty for my dedicated OPR.

I did notice there some parts that came with it and Im not sure why. They sent a new long part of the miter gage (part that fits in the slot) and one new saw arbor. And something else that kinda looks like a saw arbor but not sure what it is
