'Twas the Day before Christmas
And this was my reaction:
A feeling of calm
And smug satisfaction.
For I'd purchased my gifts
Quite early this season.
No panic or worry.
I had very good reason.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But the gift I had bought you
Just sitting right there.
"Oh, crap!" I exclaimed.
"Damn it to Hell, man!
"It seems I have clearly forgotten to mail them!"
Away to the mailbox I flew in a flash.
Address it!
Stick Postage!
I made the mad dash.
But no matter how quickly I got it all posted
I knew that my efforts would all have been wasted.
For Christmas was tomorrow
And no mail would run.
It would arrive later than planned.
My best efforts were done.
So know that your gift will be arriving much later.
Blame it all on me.
(But don't be a hater.)

With all of my might.
Merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night.
