crazy wood turning

I haven't tried wood turning yet, but this a huge testament to the toughness of the shopsmith motor

That was almost 2 years ago which makes me wonder if he survived that project. I never saw the number 3 in which it was finished, delivered and placed. Have looked several times and no can find. Anyone know the results.

A year ago in comments below the video he said:
The logs were cut in February, and turned in late March and primed and then installed in August. Cracks that opened over these months were filled and finally painted in September. The building is unheated so further cracking will be slow but we may refill and repaint next year. Given how heavy they were in August I expect there is a bit more water in them. Thanks for your interest.

floating tool rest

Thank you, Ron. That is really an impressive story. What I would give to be a fly on the wall. This is the kind of work that really impresses me.
