Finishing up the first of 4 drawered jewelry chests and want to make the smallest drawer into a ring drawer. How do you guys construct ring holders. I'm thinking foam wrapped dowels but, is there a better method or product?

Might try flocking them. The stuff is available from Rockler, Woodcraft and others.

Rockler sells a "padded ring bar". Seems a bit pricy to me, but it's an option. Could probably make your own by wrapping foam, rubber, or soft plastic bars in felt and stacking.

Hmmmmm.....wonder if the foam caulk backer would be firm enough to handle this......

Try golf tees. Top up or down, cut to length.

I have used the Rockler padded ring bar and it does work but I was not totally happy with it. They are not soft and placing rings that are on the wider side is not just a simple push in motion. They look nice but too stiff.

Could someone send a link or post a picture of what these ring holders look like?

I'm picturing either a post with padding and cloth over it or a cloth covered slot that the ring would slide into.

Reading the reviews verifies the stiffness of these ring-bars. Picture is not very good because it lacks detail. You are correct in a felt covered foam bar.
