My new neighbor.

OK, since that nasty fire, I moved into a great neighborhood. Got a new neighbor, a couple months ago, she's an older lady, with a cat. Maine Coon, if you're interested. (Real nice but LARGE cat breed.)
Last week, the guy upstairs, who talks to her on a daily basis, told me she was still on dial-up. "Bill, here take the USB wireless adapter, and here is my network name and password." So, now, Jan has decent internet speed.
Yesterday, she gives me this BIG English (Scottish) biscuit box, which I KNOW my SIL would just love. This is what it looks like, except mine is in better shape.

So, today. Bill and I were both over there, she was moving her computer table into the front room, instead of her bedroom I see this "Margaritaville" bumper sticker on the top of her computer, and I ask her about it. "Yes, I'm a true-blue Parrothead." So, I show her Jimmy's internet radio station, which made her day.
Now, the real question, she has a figurehead, from an old sailing ship, that she wants to mount on her wall. This thing weighs about 40 pounds, and sticks out about 1.5 feet. No, it isn't your "typical" figurehead, it's a man, wearing a crown. It's old, paint is not too good, and it's got some cracks in it. But, it will certainly withstand being mounted on a wall.
I was thinking, a base made out of 3/4 plywood, with pockets in the back, to line up with 4 lag bolts screwed into the wall studs. (It's that heavy.) I'm also thinking about covering the plywood with some weathered lumber.
Now, clinker built or carvel built? I'm thinking that clinker would also look like lapstrake siding on an old house, which I like, too.
