Cutting Brass

I need to cut brass flat stock measuring 1/4" x 2" x 5 1/2" into a shape containing parallel curves and straight ends.

I have checked the Shopsmith band saw manual and, by using the correct blade, speed, etc. should be quite doable.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions for this project?

For what it's worth, I've used the SS band saw to cut 1/4" thick aluminum and and 1/4" dia. brass rod. These were all straight cuts, though.

Patience, Patience, Patience.

A speed reduction and a metal cutting blade would be desirable.

Curves will be problematic.

They make metal cutting blades for the jigsaw, if you have one. Not speaking from experience though.
