Jacobs chuck

I fixed my Jacobs Chuck just now....After all of these years I never
knew that they were repairable...Butt mine didn't have the same problems that the guy demonstrated in the post...After I got it apart I was surprised to find very little rust and dried up oil or grease...
Even after I pulled the split nut off and washed everything in spirits the jaws didn't want to slide I spent most of the morning working with it and finally decided that it had somehow gotten burred up inside most likely from someone beating on it...
I very carefully filed out the burs and eventually got everything to move and slide again....Greased it and pressed it back together ...It seems acceptable to me now...
Sure glad I saw that post...Who's was it?...I don't seem to see it now???
