I was looking at Shopsmith stuff for sale in my home state (Iowa) on Craig's List and found this... I'm not gonna say anymore. Let's see where we wind up...

At least it wasn't a shopsmith anchor.

(I do believe the 10E might be the best model for an anchor.)

Who knows? 10 deep cycle batteries wired up correctly, a DC motor conversion, could be a real screamer. Add a rotary fish scaler, and you're in business!

You could turn yourself a new rod handle on the lathe, hone the hooks, etc.

I was so desirous of a photo that my pea brain scanned the empty space below the text twice. :o

If Shipwright hears about this only heaven knows what he’ll do.

Hi, do you have a picture of the trolling motor? I don’t understand how it is a Shopsmith trolling motor – the only Shopsmith I know is the multi-function wood working tool.
Thanks,
Craig
1230EDT27MAR2014 Above is an email I just sent to the seller... I'll keep you guys posted.

1251EDT27MAR2014 I already heard back from the guy he said it was an incorrect posting. He says there is a pic on a later posting and the motor is a Mercury. Danged if I can find a listing though. It looks like our hopes of combining fishing with wood working have been dashed upon the rocks of internet mis-information.

1548EDT27MAR2014 He sent me a picture - behold the fabled Shopsmith trolling motor!:D

Very rare indeed. The ultimate in SPTs.
That plus teacherman’s chicken plucker, and rotary fish scaler.

Shopsmith! The gift that keeps on giving!

A bit more 'clearer'. At ldeast the power cord was in focus with the carpet.

Interesting tiller.:D Nev mind - that was the mounting shaft for the motor head. Guess the cord is the tiller.

It's a footswitch for steering and direction, I think. Does not look to be authentic Shop Smith issue equipment.....
