I have a bandsaw attachment coming, and I can see already the need for storage. I notice the mounting posts of all the pieces are about 2 or so inches from one edge, and I was thinking a piece of plywood with several 2 x 6 pieces attached at their edges with little gussets beneath them, and holes drilled a few inches out from the plywood, and the whole thing mounted on a wall somewhere is the way to go. My shop space is pretty cramped to say the least. In fact, the accessory rack will have to hang from my climbing wall, as all the other wall space is already full.

Is this a good idea? Or should I search the forum for past threads for a better solution for this?

Lots of ideas on this forum for SPT storage…here's how I mounted mine on the wall, with room underneath to park my two 500's:

Starting around 3:20 he shows some of their SPT's (joiner, belt sander and strip sander) mounted on the wall.

That's kind of what I have in mind, but I have far less space and more stuff than i can shake a stick at in there. I figure two thicknesses of 2x6 will be enough to hold the SPTs without having to buy the little stands for them. I'll throw up a pic or three when I get it figured out. Doug's shop is impressive, but he has ten times the space I do. Glad I put in tall ceilings.....

Would something like this work for you? It's on casters and the drawers hold my heavy auxiliary lathe rest, chuck, belts and band saw blades etc.

I find it is much easier to get the accessories to the SS on dollies, then up into place. Much easier than when I had them on shelves.

Very slick! I like this. It depends on the accessories one has, of course. I don't think a 1956 greenie is strong enough to run that thickness planer, but it sure does look nice. I'm thinking something to hold the saw table, jointer, bandsaw, sander disc, and sundry lathe stuff. I don't really see myself getting a big belt sander or a jigsaw, and I have a separate strip sander and scroll saw. However, I DO see myself coming up with a chicken plucker accessory, so I have to account for that....

Shipwright where could I get a set of plans for that setup?

I posted this a long time ago and at that time a few people did their own versions. I think someone did a Sketchup of theirs. It really depends on what SPTs you have so any plan would only be a guideline. It is just a simple plywood box construction so you should be able to adapt the general idea for the tools you have.
I'll see if I can find the old thread.
Edit: I guess it was in a thread that someone else started as I can't find it among mine. Maybe someone else will remember.

Teacherman, I thought you were joking about the chicken plucker!!!!! I have seen some comercial built that seem to have more pluckers on them but smaller and a bit more subble.
