For those of you who have a clamp cart, and possibly had your clamps stored on the wall, do you think the cart is a better option? I'm boarder line on the square footage but am out growing the wall storage I currently have.

Its all up to what works for you in your shop! I dont want a cart taking up floor space/foot print, even though you can move it to a corner or against the wall, mine are hanging on peg board on a wall.

I have mine hanging on the wall, I need the floor space.

Mine hang up high wherever I can fit them, but I can see making a tall accessory box with doors that rolls around. I have designed one for my SS accessories and special purpose tools and such, and it will be 3 feet wide, 7 feet tall, and 18" deep. SPTs will drop into holes drilled in 2x6s mounted horizontally. It will work, and be a lot of work to build. My shop is so full it is ridiculous.

I am going to cast my vote for the clamp cart option. While my shop floor space is limited, so is my shop wall space. I adapted some plans and came up with a variation that works really well for me. Can't recall for sure, but I think the plans may have come from Shop Notes. I like the cart because I can have all my clamps close to hand for a glue up without having them spread out all over the bench and the floor. My wall space is covered with lumber racks, shelves and cupboards so the cart was the way to go for me.

I need more clamps. After seeing the clamp rack, I'm feeling inadequate. I now have clamp envy.

Some of my clamps are on the wall, in an unused place behind the planer when the planer is in storage. Other clamps are on the back of an entry door or on the front of tool cabinets. I need the floor space!

This is a clamp cart that I built about 20 years ago. I have not really done any woodworking for about 18 years. I kept it all these years cause a wise man once told me as long as you have tools you can find work. So luckily I still have all my tools. I recently got a Shop Smith and it time to use the tools again!! Hope the pictures posted.
