JapanWoodworker-- For my woodworking tools I use Shapton Stones to finish. I use the trans Ark. because they require less care than Shaptons.mt

I use a buffing compound called ZAM, buy it from a lapidary supply store. They tell me it shouldn't work for stropping an edge but the local wood carving club uses it and it also works well for me. Might not work well on HSS but I haven't tried it.
