I seen something like this at the Indy WW show now I kinda wish I picked one up.
Has anyone used this or similar ones? How well did you like it?
Pokin' around online this seems to be the bargain one.

It looks very cool! I have been wanting to get a dovetail jig, and it is hard to know what to get. I like some of the alternative joinery. Were you able to find any reviews of it?

From what I've read the problems seems to be setup and skill level
Well steup is kinda of a patience and skill thing.
That's why I asked here I trust what I read here more than any other place online.
Especially when it's from some of the more regulars here. I have never met any
but feel like they are trusted friends and value their opinion.

Zero experience with this, but I see a lot of fancy shapes that are quite decorative, but would make poor(weak) joints.
I believe any dovetail type joint jig requires meticulous setup for good results.
Too much $ fer my blood but quite interesting:).

I had my nieces in mind I thought they would like the fancy stuff on a jewelry box. Maybe future Christmas or birthdays

I have a
Route-R-Joint kit made by Woodline. So far I have only used it on one project.
I was pleased with the result, the joints were snug and no gaps, on the pine board i used it was hard to see the joint at all.
I was going to us it again this spring but the shop gremlins have hidden the bit.

I've seen and been tempted, but no haven't gone there. I have several dovetail jigs, and I also can cut them by hand. With my jigs, a Craftsmen, PorterCable, and a Leigh everything has to be fiddled with, test cuts always made. Nothing is ever out-of-the-box perfect. And there is one's touch or feel for the jig and routing tool. My hunch is it works, but expect to fiddle with it.

Which dovetail fixture would you recommend for someone's first one? I want to start making drawers and such.

I got this one
http://www.praziusa.com/chestmate.html Works good. The thing I liked most of all is you can space the dovetails at varying distances. Also works on different thickness' of wood.
Cost - less than $100 by $1.
