…the FedEx guy delivering a big yellow box today:
I cashed in some frequent flyer miles for Amazon gift cards and as a result, this only ended up costing me $13

This will help greatly with making "portable" a reality for my DW735.

DW735 is portable just pick it up and move it where ever you want it.
Sure!!!!!!! Thing weighs a ton but it is a fantastic planer.
You are going to have a very nice setup. Again green with envy:D

Looks like it has a nice retracting caster set. Gotta have wheels!

I'm not sure until I put it together but it looks like I should be able to put a shelf on it for additional storage…not sure what I'd store there but I can never have too much storage.

If you can move the lift mechanism to the out side, turn it around. It would be a simple matter to turn this into a cabinet with little plywood. Unlike most stands this one has vertical legs making it easy.

Good thought - a cabinet would help keep residual dust down on items being stored…I'll just have to see how the lift mechanism works and is installed and if that can be worked around to make a shelf and/or cabinet work. This was one of my only hesitations on buying this in the past, as it retails on Amazon for $160 and I was a bit hesitant to shell out that much $$ for nothing more than a portable stand, especially having seen designs in the past folks have made for much more versatile portable planer "work center" type storage stands. Reality set in that I don't have the time these days to make something like that and when the option for the Amazon gift card came along to make this stand close to free, coupled with the good reviews it gets on Amazon, I went ahead and bit and will see how it can be modified…to hopefully improve on things.
