Ed in Tampa,
During the Sawdust Session this morning I said I would photo the results of my proto effort (proof of concept) to recycle the 510 rail components in an effort to make a router table or an outfeed/infeed table.
I've done no work on the table - just the rails. Except for some holes that were drilled at a slight angle I've been fairly successful. The table could be made about any size you want. It will be adjustable up/down and can therefore accomodate about any table thickness you might choose.
I have two Shopsmith router tables so I'll probably do mine with the ideal of it being a work surface. I'd probably mount it off the right end of the Shopsmith. One router table is mounted at the other end (most of the time).
I guess that's my judgement. See for yourself.
