This forum is awesome! I already found out the age of my 10ER. New question: The tailstock has a center of some type (missing the pin). Is this a morse taper type, or is it a straight arbor. I nee to remove it so I can begin refinishing the tailstock, but don't want to go hammering on parts until I know how the are mounted. Again, thanks in advance for all the awesome help. Loyd

MT2 Any current Mark x tailstock will fit(as well as other MT2 adapters intended for the tailstock). The tailstock has a removable(hence adjustable) socket. Look for the big 'nuts'.
P.S. The center pin is replaceable(at least on some I have seen - presses in/out - reason for the cross hole)

The usual reason questions are asked is because of a lack of understanding. That situation is corrected when an insightful answer is given to it. Sometimes it leads to further questions which again leads to further understanding.
So never be bashful regarding help.
