You did notice that shipping was free. You can hardly beat a deal like that. In fact, one can hardly pass up an opportunity to bid on it.

Very low hours. Blades are sharp. Some surface rust. Old style cutter head.

Heck cast iron rust easy, cleans up just as easy, and look you saved $20.00 on getting the blades sharpened!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you want for 185.00?LOL!!!
Heck my goldie and greenie came with one and I paid 125.00 and 170.00 respectively for them, and all the extra bling boxes too!!!!

The fact that two people have bid on it proves to me there is a lot of people with more money than brains. If the table is that bad you can bet the bearings are shot. So all that is left is scrap and they ain't paying $185 for that much scrap.

Notice that those were OFFERS and they were not accepted. There is no one dashing to take this home for $185.00.

It sorta boils down to how much are you willing to spend on the finger guard and the dust collector chute. The cutter head might be in okay shape and the blades are worth a couple dollars (maybe).

There are several watchers. This will sell. I think we might be surprised at the take away price.

I'm watching just because I want to know what that price is.

We are probably going to fake out the seller with all our "watching". He'll wait for bids, and not take the lower offers.

Perhaps, but I have to disagree somewhat with the reference to scrap. There is far more 'correct' than there is scrap. Yes the cast iron is pitted. Pitted works almost as well as pristine for jointing. Bearings are replaceable.

I do agree that $185 is way too much.

I be watching out of curiosity myself!:p

Ah, but you guys are looking for bargains in all the wrong places. Henceforth, tune into Craigslist Columbus, where you can often find extreme bargains like this one (and I quote):

"You can find a NEW Shopsmith Mark 7 for $3979.00 or buy this one for $1200.00!! That's less than a third of the price!!"

Now Steve, I'm not saying that it's not worth a third as much as a new Mark 7. Just commenting on the market value.
