My new ( revised) sanding station

Here's a photo of my newest sanding station using the PowerPro. It has the Strip Sander and two drum sanders. This set-up is for sanding the newest collection of small cars. The Strip Sander is used for sanding convex surfaces and the drums for concave areas.

The PowerPro is run in reverse at 1300 RPM and all sanding is done without and any changes. The headstock just keeps running and I work from the back side.

All dust is collected - no mess!

NICE setup Chuck. How MANY cars do you have to sand? How about a lower speed to cut down on heat build up?

No heat buildup at all. I only have to sand down the rough spots from bndsawing. How many cars? 100+

Yes, a neat setup....but

You said you run in reverse and you work on the backside. I can see that in the setup.

Can you do the same thing working in forward on the front side?

Oh, Yes!- but I happen to have the bandsaw set onto the other end. This way all I need to do to use the bandsaw is remove the two drill chucks and put on a hub and slide the headstock.

The reason I'm running the headstock in reverse is to turn the strip sander in the correct direction.
