I understand the concept of a birdhouse, and this one looks very nice. But help me understand what the beer bottle does?

Now I am really confused. It says Birdhouse on the post. I can see the bird feeder concept with the bottle, but what are the size of the holes or bird openings? Is it for a particular species of bird - small ones like Wrens? Do birds really go into the feeder to eat? If so, I have never seen anything like it, as the feeders I use are more open.

db,

Nice looking piece of work.
What're the materials used, overall dimensions and size of the openings?

I'm wondering what bird can fit through those openings or of you leave the hinged portion open during feeding hours.

IIWM, I would fill the bottle(bird seed I presume), invert the feeder, mount the bottle, then turn the whole shebang light end up.

How often do you tilt it so the bs will slide out the bottom hole?;)

Nope. Major screwup. Not much sleep. My wife has been in hospital for past 6 days.
