just got a call from the Hospital home health care regarding my wife's very high blood pressure 211/78 (off the chart). They called her cardiologist who sent a script to the pharmacy. They called me to advise me to pick it up tonight. The Pharmacy called back and told me they couldn't fill it before 9:00 a.m. due to medicare regulations.

And you want Ovomit Care to run your health care? Call it what it is "the Congressional Affordable Care Act. That's a 4 year old term for CRAP also known as CACA or SHIT - Stuff Happens In Turmoil - where stuff happens when the President, his cabinet, bureaucracy, staff where stuff happens and they have their heads where stuff happens.

My mom had that problem way before the health care act was even thought of. The pharmacy will put the rx in as a refill when it is an increase to her dose. Call to Dr. clears it up.
I would ask what regulation they are referring too.

I suspect there is more to the story. I'm no Obama care or CRAP fan but I also know pharmacies will tell stories that paint themselves in a favorable light. Like we are out of the drug and overnight shipped it and it was easier to tell what we did than have you go to another pharmacy to get the script filled.

I guarantee that if my pharmacist ever puts me off like has been described here, for an important medication, he will no longer be my pharmacist. There are far too many pharmacies fto allow that to happen more than once. Walgreen, Walmart, CVS, Osco and more.

I've had similar problems with Walgreen's and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. And, then the INSURAnce company decides that you don't need what the doc prescribed and gives you something close or a generic. That way, you both save money in the short term, but what happens to your health in the long term? Been going on for more than 20 years. :)

Here in KY, they are 'required' by state law to dispense a lower cost generic. The prescribing physician is 'required' to state 'do not substitute' on the prescription for a non-generic prescription.

Personally I now prefer OTC 'equivalent' since I now face the dreaded donut hole. Fortunately my 'doctor' sees it that way also!

A years worth of Spiriva gets me to the 'hole' with out any thing else contributing! Damn those cigarettes I gave up 40 yrs ago are getting expensive!
