Is that description about impossible to read for everybody or did my browser just not like it?
If it looks like gibberish to anybody else it says:
~ RARE SHOPSMITH MARK VII 7 HOME MULTIFUNCTION WORKSHOP SYSTEM IN FAIR CONDITION. MANY ATTACHMENTS INCLUDED - EVERYTHING PICTURED. POWERS UP - LATHE RUNS SMOOTHLY IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. WE DO NOT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE TO TEST ALL OF IT'S MANY FUNCTIONS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT FOR MANY YEARS BELIEVED IT ALL TO BE IN WORKING ORDER WHEN HE LAST USED IT. THIS WAS SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND IT HAS BEEN GARAGE STORED SINCE THEN. AFTER SOME TESTING OF THE SPEED CONTROL DIAL , IT WILL ADJUST FROM 5200 RPM(MAX SPEED) DOWN TO ABOUT 3400 RPM AT THIS POINT THE DIAL GETS TIGHT AND WILL NOT GO SLOWER. WORKS WELL IN THAT RANGE THOUGH. DUE TO THIS THE PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED. SOME SURFACE RUST IN PLACES CAN BE SEEN IN PHOTOS AND ON THE BOTTOM "LEGS". WILL LOOK MUCH BETTER AFTER SOME DETAILED CLEANING AND USE. WE WILL LEAVE THAT TO THE PROUD NEW OWNER. SOLD AS IS. NO HELP LOADING IS PROMISED. THIS UNIT IS QUITE HEAVY. LOCATED IN FAIRMOUNT , INDIANA - GRANT COUNTY. THANKS. ~

I think 'she' (the seller) writes like she talks. yak yak yakety yak.

The other stuff she is selling has similar 'verbage'.

P.S. Methinks the cam has a hole towards the slow end.

I've bought three, dusty but working Mark VII's for $150 in the last month. All with good speed controls, gear racks and in working condition. It'd be interesting to see if they get a buyer.

Actually it looks like it should clean up half decent and could be a good buy for someone like me that has a lot of the little stuff squirreled back (I'm not in the market). I wonder if it comes with a "box" holding the tail-stock, miter-gauge, the other support leg and the table extension support tubes, chuck etc. or if this all he has.
It appears to have been living under that plastic tarp on a patio for a little too long.
Is that a plastic inner panel of a driver's door sitting behind it? Or is it some strange SS item I don't recognize?
Everybody has to just do their own thing but I would have thought that a good cleaning and some JPW along with maybe a touch of paint might have been a good choice to gain a lot of sales value. Then again he may just want it to go away...

I agree it would clean up nice with a lot of elbow grease. It's just too bad that great tools like that often get left uncared for and end up in that state. Believe me, if I lived closer, I'd buy it in a heartbeat and have it looking like new.

Sure brings back old memories. I was able to buy a lot of non-operating Mark VIIs in the early 2000s. I used the Mark VII reversible motor with motor mounts I made to fit in the Mark V motor pan. I cut off the dust collection shaft from the motor. I used 2 bases and base arms modified to fit over the base arm pin and welded a 1/2" aluminum piece to hold a 10ER knob to the base arm to hold it on the base arm pin. The Mark VII main table and extension table is larger than the 500 and the main table tilts 90 deg in each direction. I constructed 6 of these double tilt machines which took me about 4 years to sell all of them. I noticed recently I still have some of the Mark VII main and extension tables along with the motors that I never got around to using as it did not appear to be a market for my conversions. Guess I was ahead of the times.

Closer reading and looking leads me to 'Looks like a door panel to me also'.

That 510 is just 20 miles from my hometown where my sister still lives. I'm due for a trip down there. Anybody want it
