DOES anyone know if Nick Englers Maintenance videos are still available to download? I had them a few years ago, but lost my old computer, and all files.
If anyone knows of these or anything similar I would appreciate a contact.
I believe that I have seen some maintenance videos on the Shop Smith page, but would like to download the original files if still available.
Thanks for any Info.

I am unaware of any Shopsmith videos, done by Nick, that could be down loaded.
There are some available at shopsmith.com that can be purchased.

You have made my day by being around to post today!
Happy to see you are still around!
I think Dusty has given you the 'bottom line' re the Nick videos.

You can find some here:

You may download (capture) them if you have the right software
Good luck

In the past Admin deleted threads that talk about "capturing" those videos so you might want to watch what is posted here.
Property of Shopsmith and not you is about how this goes.

Since some of those sessions etc. are on you tube, I presume SS is not all that concerned. Now those currently being sold is an entirely different matter.
Maybe Admin will weigh in on this.

There are many free and paid applications to get video from YouTube and other sites. I'll give you a few I know.
Each one must exercise judgement on what is right or wrong, responsibilities inherent to having personal freedoms.
Atube catcher is one free.
http://atube-catcher.en.softonic.com/download
YTD
http://ytd-video-downloader.en.softonic.com/ is free first but after they want money
These are just some available legally in the internet; like a weapon it is your responsibility what you do with it.
Sorry for the "disclaimers" but seemed important in this thread

Why does anyone want to capture any of those that are already available "for free and legal" viewing on uTube? The world confused me sometimes.

Probably to be able to watch them when you have no internet access like in an airplane during a 8 hours flight or in the train I ride everyday where Internet access is bad.
Furthermore is not unusual for videos to be removed from YouTube by the poster or when it closes the account.
Remember old VCRs. : )
I hope this clarifies why somebody would save a video.
