A long list of places to go and things to do the last two days. One place I stopped was a Restore, you just never know what they have and it changes all the time.

Today there was a bin of lathe tools! Most were Buck Brothers, and they are identical to some of the shopsmith tools I own. In fact the only thing that looked different was the ones I have says Shopsmith and these say Buck Brothers.

How many tools you ask? I have to say maybe 25 of them. At the ones I looked at I could see no indication they had ever been used. Some minor rust, some of the sharp edges that have to be sanded off were marked up. They were even reasonably sharp. Handles could use some sanding and finish but they could even be used as is.

With a great deal of restraint I took only 3 tools. I might go back tomorrow and get one more, had my eye on it but resisted then, now I wish I hadn't.

Since these are really donations when it comes down to it I didn't mind paying the $5 ea price.

Now the ones I picked out are tools I don't already have so I'm not stocking up. They were also the only Greenlee tools in the bunch so they were different then the Buck Brothers.

I find all kinds of good stuff at the RESTORE here.

I check my local Restore every week. You never know when they will have a deal on a tool that can be squirreled away;) for future use.

I went back the next day and lathe tools were all gone. Some one may have picked up the rest of the tub, so the one smaller gouge I was looking for was gone.

BUT

Hanging on the wall were some shopsmith bandsaw blades. They were the standard blades, some were $2 others $3 now I have 4 new old blades. None were used but I do see a small amount of corrosion through the plastic....

I've never had a 1/16" blade before, wow 24 tpi. I also got a 5/8" 3/4 tpi, 1/4" in 6 tpi and 14 tpi. Current prices are about $16 a blade (1/16" not available), total about $64. My bill was $10.

I'll have to start shopping there more often.
