I cut the base to a total length of 39.5", moved the base plate in 3.25", looked good there, moved the head rest to the inside of the motor, 36" from the right side, (base plate end).

The pictures don't show it but I hope you didn't cut down 10ER tubes. You will get a lot of flack if you did. Being thicker they are in great demand. Mark V tubes would have probably worked just as well for a short span of a mini.
All of that said personally I defend your right to do as you please, just expect some flack.

EF, No way I cut the tubes, my torch wont cut then!!!! I just made the support base shorter!!!

I'm not that big, but I think you "done" good!

Takes up less room in D-P mode, and you didn't cut the tubes.

I still think a tie bar at the headrest is a good idea even though it could get in the way when raised for drill pressing. I am 'out of town' so tardy 'response' is 'understandable'. That's 'my' excuse!:rolleyes:
