Thank you for starting this thread. May I use it to offer a ShopSmith 10ER free to a good home?--

FREE TO GOOD HOME: SHOPSMITH 10ER, ca 1950-51

I have come into possession of ShopSmith Model 10ER, SN# R48364. The SN indicates that it was made in late 1950 or early 1951 in the Western (Bay Area) Plant (thank you chapmanruss for the research). It was well-used in the 1950’s and early 1960’s, but it has not been used or maintained in decades. It is intact and includes a number of accessories, plus original owners instructions and reference book. Photos available if you area interested.

I would gladly give it free to a ShopSmith enthusiast, if that person could pick it up. I am located in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is in a garage that must be cleared out by March 31.

Could anyone here point me to where I might find people in the San Francisco area who might want it? I can be contacted at ed.wells@gmail.com .

Magna-Line 9” Table Saw (near NYC) - $150

CT seems to be the location to find cool, old Magna products! I found a similar model there last year. This looks to have all the key pieces included, although the motor pulley is a little big (and not double-belted, as originally specified).

Seller apparently doesn't know what he or she has.

EDIT 4/15/2025: My mistake on the speed changer ...I apparently don't know the difference either.

I don't see a Speed Changer in the picture nor is it mentioned in the ad unless I missed it.

The Miter is a non Shopsmith Miter but has a hold down set up like one that came with a Model 10E Miter I have which is shown below.

For that matter, it’s not even a 10E! Not with that stubby style pivot base and such a high serial number…

At least they got “Shop smith” [almost] right! :D

The name plate says 10E. The S/N is 2?017. Probably other parts added during it's life time.

I agree with John Burger about parts being changed over the years. Just not as picky of an item as not having a Speed Changer. I also found the non Shopsmith Miter interesting since I have the same hold-down on a Miter.
